I just completed a 10 day excursion across the great state of Kansas, escorting my New York state based Mom on a grand tour of all the Kansas relatives (she is a Kansas native, but has lived in NY for 55 years now.) I drove 700 miles around the state, never stayed more than 2 nights in one place, saw lots of relatives, endured weather that included 102 degrees and humid, torrential rain, and a tornado warning, ate in many mediocre chain restaurants, slept on 6 different beds in 9 nights (if you count my aunt's pullout couch as a bed.)Īnd what was my reward?
